We have held the Norway-Japan Exchange Program Workshop in Toyama on June 11 (Monday), jointly organized by UiT the Arctic University of Norway, National Museum of Ethnology, and the Center for Far Eastern Studies, University of Toyama.
The faculty members and graduate students of the UiT, one of the exchange agreement universities and our graduate and undergraduate students participated in the workshop and fieldwork course (JANATEX) at Tateyama. Professor Kazunobu Ikeya from the National Museum of Ethnology, the leading institute of the NIHU Transdisciplinary Project for Northeast Asia, also joined the workshop and gave a presentation.
The one day workshop and 8 day fieldwork course provided us invaluable opportunities for interdisciplinary, international and inter-university collaboration for future research and education.
The workshop details were featured by Kitanippon Shimbun (in Japanese). The workshop movie is now also on YouTube.
